PhD in German candidate, University of Waterloo MA (Waterloo) Allison Cattell is a Ph.D candidate in German in the Department of Germanic and Slavic Studies at the University of Waterloo. Her MA thesis explored a postmethod conceptualization of Communicative Language Teaching using concepts from Ludwig Wittgenstein's Philosophische Untersuchungen. She has co-published on student engagement and language awareness (Waterloo: Centre for Teaching Excellence, University of Waterloo, 2011) and her forthcoming book chapter is on postmethod curriculum construction. Her current projects are in literary and cultural studies, and her dissertation will contribute a poststructuralist analysis of German literary texts to current discourses within the field of Disability Studies. |
